Montmorency Retreat was a collaborative project with Drawing Room Architecture, adding a thoughtfully designed wing to an existing mid-century home. This self-contained extension was created to adapt to a variety of future needs—whether it’s a private space for grandparents to age comfortably near family, a haven for teenagers transitioning to independence, or a welcoming retreat for out-of-state friends and family.

The design features a weather-protected outdoor nook, perfectly placed just off the kitchen, offering a cozy spot for al fresco dining or a quiet coffee in the sun. A sculpted roof was carefully crafted to funnel natural light into every room, with its elevated structure ensuring brightness throughout the space.

At the heart of the living area is a versatile island bench set on casters, allowing it to be moved to create more room or adapt to different uses, seamlessly blending functionality with style.
